Silver Lake Campground/Florida Forest Service

Located in the Croom tract of the Withlacoochee Forest, it is 1 of 3 Campgrounds in the Ridge Manor area. Silver Lake has approximately 30 sites, with 50 amp service. Dump station is located in the park, next to the bath house. Bath house is small. Clean, however does not match up to the State Campground Bath houses. Best view is located at site 16. Site took our 29 footer without issue. Sites are BIG, with campfire ring and gravel driveways. Silver lake is a shallow water lake, perfect for canoe or kayak. There was some motor boat, jet ski, and airboat traffic, however due to the small size they didn't hang around long. Did some fishing from the bank and canoe, few bites but nothing in the boat. Flying bugs were not an issue, however the ants are terrible. Spray down the stabilizers and tires before you park. Nice shade, lots of wildlife, beautiful view, however you are 100 yards off I75 and will be listening to the Interstate.
