Faver-Dykes State Park, South St Augustine

Located approximately 15 miles south of St Augustine, right off US1, it's convenient to the shopping, dining, and attractions that the area has to offer. This is one of my favorite getaways. It's an old park. Sites can be tough to get into with a bigger unit. However, it is off the beaten path and if you hit it during the week, there is a good chance you will be alone. Offers a small boat ramp, canoe and kayak launch area, and a fishing pier all on the salt marsh. Playgrounds and bathhouses/restrooms are well kept and maintained. Park sits back in the woods, well off US1 and the only sound you will hear is your neighbors or the wildlife. Been here several times, have seen snakes on most of the trips, one a nice size rattler. Keep an eye on your little ones and pets. Dump station.....This can be a challenge. It is located in the center of the campground, on the entrance side. depending on the common sense of those in front of you, you may be stuck forever as sometimes the road get blocked with newbees that are afraid to get within 5 feet of a tree. Be patient as we were all "that guy" at one time.
