Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park,

My all time favorite park. Fishing, Hiking, Canoeing, Shelling, Beach, River/Bay side...It's all you can ask for. We have stayed here on several occasions, all times of year.
Sites have plenty of foliage between them. Bath houses are always clean and well kept. Only down side, if there is one, 9 miles to the nearest store. The town of St George is a neat little place with historic sites and the normal tourist shops. Several mom and pop places to eat on the island. Beaches are amazing. Miles of beautiful white sand. Fishing.....always a surprise and pleasure. Catches have included: Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Pompano, Whiting, Catfish, Shark, Stingrays, weakfish. Sand Fleas seem to work best here, however don't expect to catch them on the beach.
If your a birder, you will love this place.
