Sebastian Inlet State Park Indian River County, Florida

Sabastian inlet is a fisherman's paradise. It is the only State park that is open 24 hours a day. We have been able to make 3 trips to this park and we still haven't seen it all. Reason for this? Fishing. To date, we have fished the lagoon by canoe, fished the south side of the river from the park, the inlet bridge, and the North beach. Expect crowds as this is one of the number one fishing destinations in Florida. Best sites for a view are 1 thru 15. Drawback, you are on boat ramp road and traffic is constant during daylight hours. There are 3 bait shops within 10 miles of the park. Expect to find fresh shrimp, frozen and live sand fleas, and frozen squid. Mullet was hard to come by during all 3 stays. Bring everything you need as the ride to the nearest grocery store is 20+ minutes. For those with small children, there is a shallow lagoon with a small beach on the river side of the inlet. On the weekend, it seems to be crowded. Fish we have landed include: Shark, Redfish, Whiting, Catfish, Black Drum, and weakfish. Have seen others with Jacks, pompano, snook. NoSeeUms can be terrible depending on the time of year. Feb and March, not so much.Bathhouses are standard state park issue with a couple of coin operated washers/dryers. Beautiful sunrises, sunsets. White Sand Beaches, well kept and maintained, with room to fish on the busiest days.....Love this park.
